Hello, I've been working with an ASP application for quite a while, and just suddenly, something that worked perfectly before wouldn't work anymore (luckily this is only on my local test server - it still works at my customers web hotel provider's server). I get the following error message: Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005) Unspecified error /bvm/Default.asp, line 56 Lines 55 and 56 look like this Set conn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.Open "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=" + Server.MapPath("db/bvm-web-ut.mdb") I have not made any access restrictions on that db file nor it's folder, it's not read-only or in use by anther application. I have tried the compact/repair function. From Visual Basic applications (for example) I can access it with no problem. Any suggestions to what I can do about this? Thanks ;o) Geir

I think Most of the time this is a permissions problem. The web server user account, normally IUSR_computername, needs to have read/write permission to the .mdb file. OR sometimes it may because of wronge path for your .mdb file. Please check it, even if you have not made any chages
