    i am completely new for asp.net. by the way, i have some confusion in creating virtual directory in IIS. first of all i create web application "student" in "asp" folder", which was by default stored in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\asp\student.. like this way, now, how create virtual directory in IIS. please give idea. it's urgent. thanks in advance

    If you are using VS.net to create the web project then the virtual directory is created automatically. If not the open Adminitrative Tools >> Internet Information Services.... open the Default Site node, the right click on New Virtual Directory, follow the wizard...

    If your content is already under \inetpub\wwwroot, then there is no need for a virtual directory. You may need to set the app folder as an Application in the IIS MMC.
