It is difficult to deploy application without port.
For example you have app A and app B , both of them deploy and bind to same IP 127.0.0.1. When you want to access app A through IP, how does the server distinguish whether you want to access A or B? So you should deploy with port, and access app A though
Most sites are coming like xyaz.com/? because of default port, just like http://localhost in IIS. It seems no port in url, actually, it binds to port 80 and complete url is
You can deploy sites without specifying port, but cannot without port.
Here are some steps to deploy site which you can access through xyz.com.
1. Add “127.0.0.1 xyz.com” in host. The hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
2. Add site in IIS. Fill in site name, application pool, physical path.
3. You don’t need to specify port, keep it as 80. Fill in the host name as xyz.com.
Then you can access the site through http://xyz.com .
