    Hello,

Please I am planing to move a live asp.net website with it's related SQL database to a new windows server in AWS cloud .

I need a full steps to do that as I am new to windows and I was working on linux before and don't have any experience in IIS and

I need to know exactly what to do in the old server ( how to exrtact the database and find website files ) and how to implement them (the database and website files) in the the new windows server. and what do I need to download and how to configure IIS and SQL server ?

    Thank you..

    Hi Ghinaaltal,

Microsoft have official document about how to migrate asb.net website to azure cloud VM or app service step by step. We also have walkthrough about how to migrate the sql database.

Migrate a .NET web app to azure app service:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/azure/dotnet-howto-migrate-app-service?view=azure-dotnet

Migrate an asp.net website to azure VM:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/azure/dotnet-howto-migrate-to-vm?view=azure-dotnet

    Migrate sql database:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/azure/dotnet-howto-migrate-sql?view=azure-dotnet

    Hi ghinaaltal,

Sure. That's possible. But its not about how to migrate SQL Server database. Its about how to migrate whole SQL Server instance. Since it is not that easy to conclude all steps in a thread and we are not SQL Server experts. It is suggested consult MSDN SQL Server forum for walkthrough or tutorial.

If you have any question regarding IIS, please feel free to let me know.
