Hi there, I need your help.
So I've set up a virtual directory and application ASPNET C# available over HTTP using the Default Website.
Whenever i try to access the directly using my domain name it works, but whenever I try using my ip address from the very same machine it keeps asking me for authentication and reports a 401.1 if I cancel:
HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
Error Code 0xc000006d
How to do resolve this ?
Thanks in advance for any help

Could you help check whether your user credential has been logged in IIS log when IIS keep prompting for user credential?
If the user credential has been passed to server side, then you should be able to see it in cs-username column.
You symptom looks like the web browser is not sending user credential when you access the website via IP address, then IIS keep prompting for user credential.
If the user name is not logged in IIS log at all, try to downgrade the security level of your web browser and add the website to trusted website with "require server verification..." unchecked.

It sounds like when you are using domain name, the web browser is considering it as intranet due to the intranet policy, then it will sign in the website automatically. That's why you can access the website directly.
When you try to sign in with IP address, the web browser policy don't think your IP address is kind of intranet. Then it prompt for windows authentication.
