IIS publish a website that points to a folder, enable directory browse, there are many subfolders in the directory, and i create some shortcuts to put under the root directory, what is the new type of these shortcuts in mime? i use "application/x-ms-shortcut",
but it's no work.

Why you need add mime type for the shortcuts? For iis, a shortcut is just a .lnk file and when you browse the file directly, it will download the shortcut rather than accessing the folder where it points to.
If you need access the subfolders from root directory, I think you could add the subfolder as virtual directory.
Right click your site and select Add Virtual Directory, enter an alias name for the subfolder and its physical path and click ok. Then you could see a folder with the alias name shown in the root folder. And when you click the folder, it will open the subfolder.
You could check below document for more information.
