Max Servers in a Server Farm? Performance issues?

two short questions:
I'm using Application Request Routing (ARR) for loadbalancing on the application layer. My company might want to setup a lot of servers, which host the same website. So we potentially will have a big Server Farm (20-100 servers in a farm).
Thanks in advance!

You had asked several questions.
(1) Is there a limit for the amount of servers in a Server Farm?
I did not get any document, link, article, where It is mentioned that how many maximum servers we can create under Web Farm.
I can see that you want to create servers between 20-100. I think that you can fulfill your requirement.
(2) Do we have a performance issue with a Server Farm which contains/manages lots of servers?
The simple answer is if the number of servers are more then chances for any issue occurrence is also more.
You need to do more efforts to maintain all those servers. It also depends upon your application and your hardware.
You can try to use Web Farm Framework to manage all servers.

Thanks for reminding me, to have a look at other options.
We need to scale up our system because we might have to manage a lot more users in near future.
We are already working on code improvements, but we also want to know our limitations to IIS, just in case we need more resources. So we are not actually planning to setup 100 new servers at all.
