Hi there fellows, mine is a interesting and weird problem.

Little bit background, I'm a Jr. Developer and never wrote classic ASP. I just started to work at a company and all the websites written in the classic ASP. They wanted from me to move the web sites(3 different), to a Windows Server 2012 R2. However, if i install the website to IIS 8s default it works like charm. But if i add a new website and do the bindings etc, it shows "HTTP/1.1 New Application Failed" on the server. On client pc, it redirects to default website. I'm stuck with this for 2 day. Any help will be great.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ArifMucahid,

Did you host the IIS server in a domain?

    You could fix this by:

    1. Open the properties of the Default Web Site and choose Directory Security.
    2. Click the Edit button for Authentication.
    3. Click the Edit button for Anonymous and edit the account listed to read "Domain-name\Anonymous."
    4. Disable Password Synchronization.
    5. Manually shut down the MMC to ensure proper writing to the metabase.
    6. Go to a command prompt and issue "net stop iisadmin /y."
    7. At the command prompt, issue "net start w3svc."

If it is not working, you could try to remove the asp section in web.config.

    Best Regards,
