• Stream Media Playlist - Will not advance to next track

Mar 16, 2017 12:11 PM|carrzkiss|LINK

Hello All;
I just got Streaming Media installed, and am trying to learn how to use it.
I have a playlist going and have a few songs in it.
However, it will only play the first track, and will not advance to the next track in line.

I checked to see if there was some option that needed to be checked, and there is nothing.
Any idea's?
Codes below

OK, just found out something, of which actually sucks, to be honest.
Which means that I cannot add dynamic content to the list.

The .asx file has to look like this.

<ASX VERSION="3.0">

Aldo Nova

Fantasy

<REF HREF="http://192.168.2.12/media/AldoNova.isx?sessionId=d628fee0-6924-4fe6-8887-8609376ab4f9;entryId=1" />

Hot Love

<REF HREF="http://192.168.2.12/media/AldoNova.isx?sessionId=d628fee0-6924-4fe6-8887-8609376ab4f9;entryId=2" />

</ASX>

As you can see, there are two entries. each entry has an (entryId=1 & entryId=2)
And it would grow to a bigger list if there are more tracks listed inside of the ISX file.
This is very limiting.
Which means that this list would have to be updated, which means that the user would have to Reload the .asx file in order to get the new playlist.

This will not work.
So, I am going to look at other ways of doing the playlist, and see if there is another way.

Update.
If you save the file, then it gives you the list, like I posted in the last post.
However, doing like I wanted to do, with doing live updates, will not be possible.
So, I am thinking.
To do something similar to a radio station, I would need to.
Add the songs, and then do a break at the end of the list, and then load the new dynamic list again after the break.
Will just need to do some more research.

I will post everything that I find out in this thread so that others can learn from it.
So, keep tuned in.

@Yuk.
I might not be able to use this tool to do what I want and need.
It seems there are not enough documentation, and not enough resources available.
You would THINK the Microsoft would have more information on their software.
But, in this case. They do not.
Very sad, as I was hoping to stay with Microsoft products in this one.
