Im trying to deploy a simple (.net core ) hello world application on iis. I get "This page can’t be displayed".
The hello world app runs fine in dev env.
I have succesfully deployed an mvc (not .net core) application earlier so some settings are at least fine on the server.
I have followed the instructions here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/publishing/iis
I have followed the troubleshooting tips as best as I can.
I cannot see anything of interest in the event viewer.
I have tried to enable stdout logging.
<aspNetCore processPath="%LAUNCHER_PATH%" arguments="%LAUNCHER_ARGS%" stdoutLogEnabled="true" stdoutLogFile=".\logs" forwardWindowsAuthToken="false"/>
I cannot find a logs folder on my server.
I have waited six minutes as they say I should.
I do not understand how to run the app directly on Kestrel.
I did try the static files trick, but I cannot access any files.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Is there any error message in C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles? Without a status and substatus code, it is hard to diagnose the problem.
Try to enable the custom error page in IIS manger->site note->error pages->edit features settings->detailed error.
It is recommended to set your IIS website following the instruction with a simple page. Then publish the web application completely.
This link provide a more specific instruction, remember to set the handler:

Hi Yuk and thanks for helping me out
Yes, there are some logs but no errors.
The "detailed error" shows nothing new - Still page cannot be displayed.
I have followed the tutorial, and I cant see what Im doing wrong:
* Already Installed hostingbundle
* AspNetCoreModule is available in the IIS native module list
* Application Pool is set to use No Managed Code
* I have tried ApplicationPoolIdentity and NETWORKSERVICE
* web.config looks good, <handlers> are there and looks like in the tutorial.
Any ideas how to get some error messages to work with?
