With the release of VS Code earlier this year, we have shifted all development resources away from WebMatrix. WebMatrix 3.0 will be the last version we ship and we are not looking at any future bug or feature releases for the product.
If you haven't had an opportunity, take a look at VS Code at

That's great...now please rewrite Azure and Azure Pack to use VS Code instead of WebMatrix.

Will you be wiling to Open Source WebMatrix?
I am not from Microsoft, but you should notice how Microsoft open sources a product,
That's how Windows Live Writer became Open Live Writer, and how Sandcastle was revived.
If you are willing to see an open source version of WebMatrix, start to work on part 3 and find other guys with the same ambition. Without that, I don't believe open source can save it.

I still use Webmatrix ALOT as there really isn't any substitute for it!
MS have released VS Code but none of the inbuilt SQL stuff is in there.. So rapid development of ideas or apps is made more difficult.
I would support MS releasing WebMatrix as open source - it still has a big following on: https://forums.asp.net/1224.aspx/1?ASP+NET+Web+Pages

Can you please rewrite VS Code to look, behave and do what WebMatrix 3 did?
Because it is kinda 10x better...

We've looked, and it's useless krap.
