Windows Server 2008 R2
About 50 workstations
I receive a "Terminal Services Printer Redirection - Event ID 1111" error in my Event Viewer on a server which only hosts a MS Dynamics CRM website.
The error complains about printer driver's not being available.
What baffles me is:
We never attempt to print from the server. All printing would be done from the workstations.
Some of the printer drivers mentioned relates to printer we had years ago.
Examples of the drivers missing:
- Driver hp LaserJet 1300 PCL 5
- Driver PCL6 Driver for Universal Print
- Driver Microsoft XPS Document Writer v4
- Driver Nitro PDF Driver 8
- Driver Send to Microsoft OneNote 15
- Driver Adobe PDF Converter
- Driver Send To Microsoft OneNote 2010
It appears as if the errors repeat about every hour.
The LaserJet 1300, for example, we don't even have anymore.
Surely I don't have to install all these driver on the server?
any why am i receiving these errors if we are not trying to print from the servers?
Or does this not relate to IIS?

The event error (ID 1111) usually shows when the following conditions are true:
Automatic printer redirection is used instead of the Easy Print;
The driver matching on the server side is failed.
Based on my experience, the Easy Print fails possibly because that the 64-bit client driver doesn’t support it, then it falls back to automatic printer redirection
but the correct driver is not installed on the server side.
Please try to install Windows Server 2008 R2-supported driver on the RD Session Host and test the redirection again.
For more information on this error, please refer to:
(KB2004736) If you use Terminal Services with the printers option selected to connect to a Windows Server 2008 R2, it may log error TerminalServices-Printers 1111.
Hope it can help you.
