  • IIS SMTP - emails with multiple recipients sit in queue

I've got SQl 2008 Report services pointing to an IIS smtp set up on the same server.  The SMTP services uses gmail as a smarthost.   Reports that are addressed to one recipient leaves queue and is delivered as expected.  Reports that are addressed to multiple recipients remain in queue and are never delivered.  I have ensured through tests that all email addresses are working, and resolve properly.  I can successfully send single emails to each of those email addresses.

I can telnet into the smtp server and successfully send individual emails as well.  I'm not sure how to send to multiple recipients via telnet though.

    Server 2008 x64

    IIS 7

    IIS 6 smtp

Is there something I am missing that might allow me or not allow me to send to multiple recipients in one email?  Right now, my test size is 3 email addresses.

    Thank you for your help
