I'm performing maintenance on a Classic ASP application and am having trouble debugging. I've successfully logged messages using Response.AppendToLog calls within an ASP file that lives at the base directory of the website. But when I try to use Response.AppendToLog from within an ASP file that lives in the xml subdirectory of the website, the messages from the xml subdirectory file do not appear in the log file. My W3C Logging Field cs-uri-query is checked and I've verified that the code in the xml subdirectory ASP file DOES execute. I'm running on Windows 7 and IIS 7.5.7600.16385. Anyone know what's going on here?

    .asp AppendToLog

I think I've figured this out - it seems that the xml subdirectory ASP file was making a call into a COM object which was subsequently throwing an exception. If I comment out the call to the COM object, then Response.AppendToLog works the way I expected it to.
