Is there a way to do that?

I found this but could not get to work.

Thank you for hints on how to do this using ASP classic.

Yes, there should be a way. You can invoke appcmd.exe to recycle the application pool (but the user executing this must have permissions to recycle the application pool, which the anonymous web user account does not have).

KristoferG -- thank you for the very much valued suggestion.

How would I call for this appcmd.exe to execute a command inside a classic asp page, or can it be within a php page?

And, would I first need to build a com object (?) and bind (and give it permission) to execute the object in the web (?), or -- would I need to code a vbs script and execute that with some appcmd.exe call?

Is there a way to give an anonymous web user permission to recycle the application pool for that other web? Would I specify this in the security settings of the web, or the file access and execute security settings -- or would it be both that I would need to set it up in?

I am sorry for these beginner-like questions ... a step by step pointer on how to do this would really help. Thanks a lot!

Is it crucial that this is an ASP page and not ASP.NET? Because it would be so much easier for me if we were doing this in ASP.NET. I could just simply give you the following link:

Let me see if I can get .NET to work on my server - somehow it got corrupted. ASP works but not ASPX.
