It is important to ensure that the Microsoft SQL Server databases you create for your users have a collation setting of "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" , not "Latin1_General_CI_AS" (which may be the default setting).

This is to ensure maximum compatibility with the web applications in our Web Application Gallery, and it is required to pass the publish testing for Spotlight status.

More information about the database collation setting is here:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms179254.aspx

If you already have a production SQL Server and you do not want to rebuild it with the new collation setting, you can perhaps use your control panel to ensure that all new databases have this setting. With WebsitePanel, you can do this by logging in with the serveradmin account, going to Configuration > Servers > SQL Server > Database Collation and setting it to "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS".

    Thank you for your cooperation!
