On my website, it seems Google (and others) are counting http://www.mydomain.com/index.asp and http://www.mydomain.com as two versions of my homepage. How do I do a 301 redirect to redirect queries for http://www.mydomain.com/index.asp to http://www.mydomain.com ?

I tried it is IIS 6.0 with a permanent redirect but the system hangs and no one can get into the site. It seems that IIS needs to have a destination page (e.g. index.asp) to point to but the http://mydomain.com does not have a page per se.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello Cafard:
Unfortunately IIS will not redirect a page to the root of a website i.e. www.website.com/index.asp will not redirect to www.website.com

    Any other suggestions?
