I'm trying to host redmine (ruby bug tracking system) on iis.

To set up ruby i used this guide:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/dgorti/archive/2009/06/17/ruby-on-rails-with-iis-7-reloaded.aspx?CommentPosted=true#commentmessage

Also add rewriting rules desribed in ruslan post:

    http://blogs.iis.net/ruslany/archive/2008/08/07/ruby-on-rails-in-iis-7-0-with-url-rewriter.aspx

     I get following Error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

C:\ruby\bin\ruby.exe - The FastCGI process exited unexpectedly

Dgorti in his ruby under IIS 7 guide tell that problem is fixed with adding permision to NETWORK SERVICE. I also tried add permision to IIS_IUSER. But result is the same.

In dgorti post there is a lot of people who faced this issue too.

FastCGI Ruby RoR IIS 7.0 IIS 7.5 Redmine

The group name is called IIS_IUSRS. I'd suggest you run process monitor to track down which account is used to execute ruby.exe and run into the error.

I have the same problem. On Win2008 64bit with IIS7.5 I don't find IIS_IUSRS group. The user trying to use ruby is Redmine, the same of site name.

     Any suggestion??

do you usually try what you are suggesting? not a custom for ms employees? do you have a  manual to configure Ruby and iis web server working together?
