    Hi All,

I would like to (using powershell):
    * export a site from IIS 7.5 on one machine.
    * Store the result in a file somewhere.
    * Import the site on another machine.

But i find that google did not index any pages yet that show me how to do that.

    Please consider this AppCmd.exe equivalent:
    appcmd list site "sitename" /config /xml > output.xml
    appcmd add site "sitename" /in < output.xml

How do I do this with powershell?

    Regards

Have you considered using the Web Deployment Tool (available through the Web Platform Installer: http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx)?

This tool would allow you to export a site as a package (a zip file) and then import that package on another machine or even export the site directly to the other machine (without the package step).  There is general information on using the Web Deployment Tool for site syncronization here: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/446/synchronize-iis-70/

The Web Deployment Tool (a.k.a. msdeploy) also works with Powershell, and there is some information here to get you started if you are interested in this approach: http://blogs.iis.net/jamescoo/archive/2009/09/09/cool-msdeploy-powershell-scripts.aspx
