We have a new Windows 2008 web server running IIS7. I have 5 websites configured on it, 3 of which use SSL. When trying to connect to a secure page, either using a browser directly on the box(local) or from another computer on the network, on site B I get
an error in Firefox
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
Fiddler shows that it connects but I still get the error. Windows firewall is allowing https. the other 2 sites that use SSL do not have this problem. I viewed the cert and it looks ok.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the article Rovastar. It makes sense, however the settings are the same on the 3 secure websites and the troubled website gets the least amount of traffic which does not make sense.

What if you use Internet Explorer, with friendly error pages disabled in Internet Options | Advanced?
Also note that to troubleshoot such issues, Microsoft Network Monitor or Wireshark can provide you more information about SSL conversation. But to read the log files, you need assistance from a network expert.
If you would like to open a case with Microsoft, please go to http://support.microsoft.com

The issue was the website binding was not assigned a cert. To assign the cert go into IIS7> click on website name> click bindings> click https> edit> select the SSL cert from the dropdown

Just to complete this thread, the reason the SSL cert was not bound is explained in another post I made and can be viewed here http://forums.iis.net/t/1160278.aspx . Basically starting the ISAPI Rewriet Manager caused the cert to be dropped.
