Hi, We have a Webservice running on IIS6.0. This webservice is created as a website with a hostheader value.
When i try to call this webservice using its fully qualified name (http://<hostheadername>/service.asmx) from ASP.NET code, it trhows up an 401: Unauthorized access exception. I can access this service
by typing the url in browser, but accessing it from code throws me an exception.
Any help on this is much apprecidated.
Thanks and Regards..

Check the sub-status code in your IIS log file. That should give a better idea of why the request for the web service is failing when accessed from code. I'm guessing that the process identity which runs the code doesn't have permission to access some resource
on your server.
