I have a fairly typical ASP.NET application that returns XML for various things, notably web service method responses and exporting data to XML files. One particular installation is returning corrupt (poorly formed) XML like below:
Because I'm using .NET XML classes that produce the XML for me, I'm quite certain that the XML is well-formed when it leaves my application code. If I attach a packet sniffer to watch the packets coming out of the physical network card, the packets are not
corrupted from a TCP/IP standpoint but the XML corruption can be seen within the packets.
Given the above, IIS is one of the suspects under the magnifying glass, and I wanted to post here to see if this sort of data corruption has been experienced by anyone here before.

Highly unlikely this is caused by IIS. Do you have any ISAPI filters or other components installed which might intercept the response?
