We have a web application with a reset password feature whereby a successful password reset by an admin sends an email to the user the password belongs to.
What is currently happening is the password reset email appears in the Drop folder and the log indicates the msg received but users do not get the actual email.
The lone web/mail (smtp) server is on a <companyname>.com. All users have a
<companyname>.org email addy.
Default SMTP Virutal Server config info:
Have all the defect settings and....
- For Domains, I have the Local (Default) plus I added the <companyname>.org as the Local (Alias) so that it will recognize the domain of the user's email account.
- Relay Restrictions, I have "Only the list below" with 127.0.0.1 listed below and the "Allow all computers which successfully authenticate..." option checked.
What might be missing from this configuration that would prevent the users from getting the emails? Could it me that there is some filter on the exchanger server blocking the emails?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need additonal info.
