I have some settings for FastCGI in the registry under:
I think this might be left over from a beta release, but I'm not sure. I have the RTM version installed now, and I see that it uses an INI file for its configuration. Does this mean I can safely remove these registry settings? Are they still needed?

I dont think FastCGI ISAPI extension released by MS ever had configuration data in registry. PHP isapi_fcgi.dll by phplens does keep the configuration under HKLM\Software\FastCgi. If you are not using isapi_fcgi now, you can definitely get rid of registry entries.

Kanwal is correct, no data is held in the registry for the Microsoft FastCGI release, however both the normal ISAPI and the old FastCGI ISAPI from PHP do use the registry to store information. Indecently it was Shane Caraveo (the man who made PHP happen
on IIS) who developed the isapi_fcgi.dll (initially at least anyway), not phplens. John Lim (phplens) simply included it in his PHP installer for PHP4 as did I as it was by far the most stable and fast way to run PHP on IIS (except for shared hosting providers)
back in the old days. All history these days though as MS FastCGI is generally the best way to run PHP on IIS :)
