I am having trouble connecting to my FTP server in passive mode. I am getting the familiar 426 error, but none of the fixes I have been able to find on here or google help me.
I am connecting to the FTP server through a VPN connection. Here is the FTP server log:
10:39:52 192.168.16.2 MyMachine USER MyUser 331 0
10:39:52 192.168.16.2 MyMachine PASS - 230 0
I also sniffed the traffic with ethereal/wireshark:
220 Microsoft FTP Service
331 Password required for MyUser.
230 User MyUser logged in.
257 "/" is current directory.
200 Type set to I.
227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,16,2,5,214).
426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.
I have checked with filemon if something could be wrong there, but it does not appear like there is, and active connections work perfectly. Connecting to the FTP server from the same machine also works, even in passive mode. It is only over the VPN connection
that it does not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Ok I solved it. I had to disable NAT on the server for it to work. I did not need NAT for this VPN anyway so that was ok, odd it didn´t work with NAT though.
