IIS 5 & IIS 6

I am using IIS6 on a 2K3 server. The only apps running on it are as follows:
GFI Mail Essentials
Trend Micro Scan Mail for Exchange
Recently I had a problem where inetinfo.exe was crashing every 20-30 minutes. I isolated the issue with the debugger, it was a dll associated with the GFI mailessentials that was leaking and causing the crash. I updated to a more recent version and the memory
leak went away.
Now however I can not get to even the root web page in IIS using the local host address. I know that IIS is running as I can telnet into to it and it does respond.
When I try to browse the local host root page I get "Service Unavailable". When I look at the application pool in IIS it reports a "unspecified error" which is lots of help.
Now to make matters worse not only can I not get to the web server but GFI mailessentials is not working at all either. I have already notified GFI about that problem, I would like to get the IIS issue resolved, since with IIS not working I can not get to
my Outlook Web Access or the managment console for the Trend Scan Mail, which is web based. These are the only two apps that run on IIS.
Exchange and GFI Mail Essentials have dependencies on IIS for the routing and SMTP and the exchange part is working just fine.
When viewing the system logs there are 5 entries, all are event ID 1039 and four of them say the same thing:
A process serving application pool 'DefaultAppPool' reported a failure. The process id was '5188'. The data field contains the error number.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
The data field contains the following: 0000: 7e 00 07 80
The fifth one reads:
Application pool 'ExchangeApplicationPool' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
The HTTP Filter DLL \\?\C:\IISDebugTools\IISCHAgent.dll failed to load. The data is the error.
The data is 0000: 7e 00 00 00
and event ID 2268
Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service. Therefore startup aborted.
with data 0000: 7e 00 00 00
This is referencing a old IIS debugger that I had loaded for a brief time, it is no longer on the system. Is it possible that somewhere there is a reference to the old debugger and that is what is causing my problem?
If so where is it and how do I get rid of it?
Any tips on where to look would be great.

The ISAPI filter should be available from the GUI.
Right click 'Web SItes' and selct the ISAPI filter tab. Also look on the individual sites you have.

It was just in the web sites.
That took care of it.
