Hi, I have installed IIS on my PC running XP Pro. I have no problem viewing a static html site consisting of pictures and text.I copied the files in the wwwroot folder and type localhost\Folder\Filename and I can view it in the browser. Now I am trying
to view an ASP.NET site which I also copied in the wwwroot folder but it doesn't work. I have followed all the instructions that I found on the Internet about enabling ASP.NET but my IIS Mgr. does not have some of the tools that I am supposed to use to do
it.Can somebody tell me step by step how to accomplish this? Thank you very much. Carlo

It's hard to help you without knowing exactly what "doesn't work" means. What is the exact error you're getting?
In a nutshell, you need to install the .NET Framework to get it to work.

etc. to the wwwroot folder.I open the browser(IE6) and type: localhost\EuropenCastles\Index.aspx to view it and get this message.

Admin note: An error message detailing the cause of the specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review the log entry to discover what caused this event to occur.
How do I get to the event log of the web server?
Thank you for your help.

Make sure the local ASPNET user has at least NTFS Read permissions to C:\inetpub\wwwroot (or whatever your root path is). Check the System and Application Event logs for relevant messages.
Also, the URL you want to use is
