Hello Experts ,
I Have A Complicated Issue In My Pocket & It Requires Your Assistant Because It
is 200% Complicated More Than Ever...
At Home I Have Three Hosts All Running XP Pro SP2 , One Of These Are Called
Studio , The Studio Host Is Connected Directly To The Internet Through A DSL USB
Modem , Anyway I Wanted To Make A Server Of This Computer Using IIS 5.1
Unfortunately I Don't Have The IIS 7.0 Yet , So I Have Established The IIS Perfectly
That I Can Web Share Drive Letters And Any Folder That I Need On The Local PC
(Studio) , Moving To The Issue Which Is Related To The Other 2 Hosts , These 2 Hosts
Receive The Internet Through Studio Using ICS Consequently By Logic The 2 Hosts And Studio
Shape A Network Together (Sorry For Mentioning Everything Specificly , I Need You To Understand How Things Go Here Before You Give Me Solutions) :
The Workgroup Is : MSHOME
Internet Source & IIS Server : Studio
Host 2 : xfighter (Name & User)
Host 3 : Name : X-lap || User : xfighter
Now , My Problem Is About Using Virtual Directories That Uses A "Share Located On
Another Computer" , It's Not That I Can't Use The Property , On The Opposite I Can Use It Also
But The Part I Can't Achieve Is That I Can't Virtually Share A Drive Letter From Any Of The Three Hosts USING THE "A SHARE LOCATED ON ANOTHER COMPUTER" I Mean I Can Web Share Drive D On Studio For Example Using "A Directory Located On This Computer"
Lets Say Studio Has The IP : 192.168.1.1 , And Networkly Shared Drive D , If I Use The "A Share Located On Another Computer" On The Same Host (Studio) And Choose Drive D , Lets Say :
\\192.168.1.1\D , All I Get Is This :
Please try the following:
Technical Information (for support personnel)
Though I Have The Permissions I Cannot Directory Browse The Drive But I Can Directory Browse Any Folder Inside It like
\\192.168.1.1\D\music\ , The Same Problem Is Present On The Other 2 Mentioned Hosts..
Web Share IIS Network Drives

The share has to allow the ASP.NET process account access to it, with whatever permission it needs to do what you're doing.
