    PHP module PSPELL seems to crash FastCGI, resulting in "error 500". PSPELL appears fine in phpinfo(), but is not usable at all (any function).

    Is anybody successful here with IIS7 + Aspell + Aspell dictionaries + pspell combination?

     Did you try any PHP forums?? I believe you would get a better response there...

    Well, this is IIS specific issue.

    - Aspell.exe runs fine from command line.
    - PSPELL extension under Apache runs also fine.
    - But it crashes IIS FastCGI module...

    The problem is not new, you can find references to it from 2005, but no solutions :(

     To be honest, I havent really worked with PSPell but What is the error message you get when you un-check Show Friendly HTTP error messages from IE ?

    PSPELL loads fine:

    But trying to use it via PHP functions will crash FastCGI module after (about) 10 seconds delay:

    The code itself could be as simple as this:

    <?php
    $pspell_link = pspell_new("cs");

    if (!pspell_check($pspell_link, "testt")) {
        $suggestions = pspell_suggest($pspell_link, "testt");

        foreach ($suggestions as $suggestion) {
            echo "$suggestion<br />";
        }
    }
    ?>

    We are running IIS6 with FastCGI and experience the same problem. One of our clients is running Simple Machines Forum. For some reason when you go to search it crashes the site and gives you the error mentioned above. After some investigation, I discovered that it was PSPELL causing the problem. Radek, so do you mean the forum script needs to modify its code with this snippet you posted here?

    Did you ever find a solution to this?  I have the exact same problem on an install that works fine on iis6/server 2003 which I am trying to move over to iis7/server 2008.

     Any suggestions?
