Action: I am trying to send emails through Telnet On my Windows 2003 server edition,
Result: Unfortunately the emails are stuck in my c:\inetpub\mailroot\queue folder.Description:1-I've installed a virtual SMTP server on my Windows 2003 server edition and created a new domain. The domain has my Server IP address.2-The SMTP service is up and running3-No Exchange server is configured4-When using Telnet I type open server.domain.com 25 and I get a response of "OK"5-Sometimes when I use telnet to domains like Gmail and hotmail I get a message telling me "Unable to relay"6-Firewall is turned off7-Antivirus is turned off8-My ISP is not blocking port 259-IIS 6.0 is the version installed10-Windows service pack 2 is installed and all required updates.Network

Most items get stuck in the queue because they don't have a valid address, make sure you check the file in the queue for proper formatting. If they can't be delivered, eventually they go to Badmail, check for reasons in that folder.

Enable and check the logs:
