I've got a site installed that works when I use the port number (http://localhost:9091,
http://<servername>:9091). But when I use the host header that is setup for this site, I get a page displayed stating that I am not authorized to view this page.
Any help would be greatly received.

Sounds like you are not allowing anonymous access to the site and IE is not setup to recognize your host header name as trusted intranet.

Thanks for your quick response to this. Unfortunately windows intergrated authentication is required so I cannot use anonymous access. The host header addresses are in the trusted zone.
From reading the kb article you suggested I added the host header application to the site. The original header was application.company.com. Same error received for new host header.

Does your userid have NTFS permission to the content?

In an attempt to just get this working, I have loosened the security and set everyone full control on the folder.
The part that I am confused about is the fact that the authorization works when I use the site without the host header!
