We have one server with both our UAT and live versions of our website on. Part of the website contacts third party web services using digital certificates - the web services also have a UAT and live. The domain name is contained within the certificate. The
IP address for either the dev or the live is in the host file. However because both the UAT and live certificates contain the same domain name, but should point to a different IP address they both can't work on the same box. We have got round this by using
a proxy. Is there anyway that the host file can be configured, or IIS configured to use seperate hosts files for each website, so they both work without the proxy?

Ummm... No. You can't point the same host name at two different IP addresses. Would a wildcard cert work for you?
