I am having a problem with IIS admin not being able to connect to the server. I am on the server, logged on locally as an admin. This server is a stand-alone server. This is IIS6 on Win2003 with all the latest patches and service packs. It has .NET 3.5
on it and SharePoint 2007 (MOSS).
When I open the IIS Admin MMC, the only thing displayed is the "Default SMTP Virtual Server". I hit F5 to refresh and I get this:
The connection to the server 'XXX' was lost.
Do you want to attempt to reconnect? (Yes/No)
I select yes and then I get this:
The path specified cannot be used at this time.
There are no errors in the event log. I can reset the IIS-ADMIN service or the server and it may or may not come back, but it always goes away again.

There appears to be a hotfix available for this. I will see if I can get it and apply it to see if it works.
