I am running Windows 2003 SP1 with debug diag 1.1. We have made some changes to application recently and it cause stack over flow exception.
I tried monitoring All IIS Process, application pool and specific worker process as well but debug diag is not able to capture the dump.
It creates following warning message in event viewer when it encounters stack over flow.
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: W3SVC
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1009
A process serving application pool 'MyAPPPool' terminated unexpectedly. The process id was '14916'. The process exit code was '0x800703e9'.
Any idea why debug diag is not able capture this exception. I tried to setup custom exception with this hex code and it is not working as well.
I also tried with cdb and iisstate but unable to capture the dump.

When you set up Crash Rule, did you set up C00000FD as Stack Overflow Exception and Importantly - Did you change "Action Type" to Full UserDump?
What happens if you just set up normal crash rule? Did DebugDiag Captured the dump?

Thanks for your response. I tried setting it up with exception code "800703e9". I did not know that I should use C00000FD. I am under impression that it should be available out of the box.
