Application pool constantly recycling

A few days ago my host decided to move my site to a separate application pool. Ever since the application pool has been recycling 1 - 2 times every minute (no matter if there are visitors on the site or not), naturally causing long reply times and lack of background
Occationally I also get a "Service Unavailable" error message, but not on a consistent basis.
The error recorded in the event log every minute is:
I really hope someone can guide me, on what can cause this problem.
The problem did not exist before the site was moved to a separate application pool

The first thing you need to do is turn on event logging viewer for event recycling. That way you will know why the app pool recycled.
There are many types
To turn them all on in the metabase by:
cscript adsutil.vbs Set w3svc/AppPools/DefaultAppPool/LogEventOnRecycle 255
OK that is the starter
Now what setting have you applied to your application pool?
Using the default settings you would recycle every 29 hours (never found agood explaination why this was set it for a fixed offpeak time) and no recycling based on the size of the pool.
"Should an application pool of 256 MB not be plenty for a site of my size?"
That is impossible to tell without seeing the app and running monitor/stats on it.
But it implies to me that you have a setting for recycling the app pool if it is over 256MB of memory.
Remove this limit (if that is what you have done) and see if there is any change. Also adding the metabase changes I described above will show you in the event log if it recyckle due to reaching the memory limit.
Hope it helps.
