System: php CMS running on IIS 6.0, with one ISAPI module to re-write urls.
Problem: if I protect a page through the CMS (which basically just executes some php script to re-direct a user to a login page) the web server throws a 401.5 error before the php script can process the request?

I have ful control over the web server. I have tried shutting down the ISAPI compionent but it made no difference.
