Have a couple of sub-domains, webapps.mydomain.com and otherapps.mydomain.com, and those are setup to go to an IIS 6 server with Windows 2003 server on a VM ware server in our dmz. They have worked well for the last year, and in the last couple of weeks,
they intermittently are inaccessible from the external IP address or names(webapps.mydomain.com). When they're inaccessible, I get cannot find server error. If I use the internal IP address or the server name, I can get to the web sites just fine. I can
log into the vm server and IIS looks ok, both sites are working. I cycle the sites and the app pools, and that doesn't seem to help. But, if I reboot it, they work. The log files don't show any requests for the time periods that it's inaccessible.
Just looking for things to check. I don't believe any updates have been done, but I'm not positive.

If you can access IIS internally, it's not IIS. It's a routing issue, check your firewall/proxy. Actually sounds like a network driver issue or NIC failure, possibly the driver got updated when it shouldn't have. Common with Intel NICs. Might look for
a networking or hardware support forum to ask in.
