IIS 6.0 and Default App Pools

I have a problem that happened today out of nowhere. Our Exchange Server 2007 clients got disconnected and all of the Events in the system log pointed to IIS. I go look in IIS and the Default App Pool is stopped and when restarted it stops right away.
So I do some digging and the conventional IISRESET and restarting all of the services associated with IIS does not work. I ended up running cscript %SystemDrive%\inetpub\AdminScripts\adsutil.vbs set w3svc/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 0 to re-enable 64bit
support and it started running again.
I am the only admin for this server and at the time I was the only user that had a connection. Has anyone here ever ran into this problem?
