We've been experiencing problems on a customers site running an ASP.NET 2.0 application in IIS 6. The IIS Diagnostics toolkit has been installed to try and help identify the cause of the problem. A recent hang dump file flagged warnings against blocked
threads and a number of requests (92 of 150) which have been executing for longer than 90 seconds, please see below. Any suggestions as to what if anything this may be an indicator of would be gratefully received.
The following threads in w3wp.exe Hang Dump.dmp are waiting on data to be returned from another server via WinSock.
The call to WinSock originated from 1a2a1c3
( 17 21 23 24 32 33 34 35 36 37 39 43 )
26.67% of threads blocked

Do you have access to source code for the application?
It looks like the application is making a web service call or a network connection, and blocking while waiting on data to be received from the remote server. You'd need to look at the source code to see what your application is doing, and why its taking
a long time to receive data from the remote server.
