IIS Manager not showing any content

Excuse my lack of correct tech grammar...
In the IIS Manager, we have always been able to browse the content on the local machine. All of a sudden, when I startup the IIS Manager, there is no content. I've tried connecting via the computer name, FQDN, IP address, localhost, 127.0.0.1, etc. Nothing
is working. I also tried jumping to another machine on the subnet that runs IIS Manager and connecting with all the above, and nothing has worked. "The path specified cannot be used at this time" is the error message I get. On the local machine, I have
been able to connect to other machines that are hosting sites and that works fine. I have also tried stopping/starting the IIS Admin service. I was thrown into this role and don't have a ton of experience with IIS. If anyone has any ideas or if you need
any other info, please let me know.
By the way, we are running Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 and IIS 6.0

Anything in the event logs?

Unfortunately, nothing seemed to stick out in the Application or System log. One thing I did not mention is that this is a VMWare image. I would love to restart the server, but we host sites on this server and are bound by contract rules for maintenance
(1 week advanced notice). But that may be our only option. Our developers apparently need the IIS Manager for whatever they are doing. Any ideas or workarounds would be appreciated...

Are you running SharePoint on these machines? I have a
workaround on my blog site you may want to check out. Even if you aren't running SharePoint the hotfix from Microsoft may apply to your environment.

Excellent resource! Yes, it was a Sharepoint server. Problem solved, headaches avoided. I appreciate all that you guys have done. Kudos to Tony!!
