I've had this problem ever since I installed IIS for development on my home XP pro machine a few years ago. I can access all of the websites locally on the machine through the localhost name, or the IP address. eg.
http://192.168.2.2/mysite. They both work on the local machine, but when trying to open the later through another computer on my network, I get a page not found error. It is not a connectivity problem because I can access the fileshares on the server and
ping it. I only have windows firewall, is there something in there I need to change?

Try telnet 192.168.2.2 80 from a remote machine. This will test connectivity. Have you enabled port 80 on your firewall or try turning off the windows firewall? Are your machines are plugged into the same router / hub?

Hmmm...well I feel dumb. I tried this originally and it didn't work but now disabling windows firewall took care of it. Guess it was just blocking that port or something. Thanks
