May be anyone of you can help!
I have been encountering the strange issues with IIS. Happens very often! All of the vhosts suddenly go down. IE7 throw "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" and Firefox gives "The connection has been reset".
All of the services remain stable when this happens - tried restrarting many times - but, that doesn't fix. Event Logs don't show any thing particular. System logs, e.g. HTTP.sys also says '80' for the sites, however, the sites don't even work on the same
localmachine's localhost. And the issue can only be resolved by restarting the machine.
IIS Diagnostics is also boring- any suggestions would be really appreciable!

Unfortunately this could be from many different reasons!
Bad code, .NET version differences within the same application pool, Front Page Extensions... if you are running ColdFusion, there could even be queries that are getting stuck in a loop; the possibilities are quite numerous.
When you log into the server, are you seeing any errors? Messages such as "IIS Worker Process Encountered a problem and needed to close"? Messages about w3wp.exe failing? Anything? If you don't see anything in the Application section of the Event Viewer,
have to taken a look into the System section? While issues may not show up specifically as "Error", you should look to see if there are Warnings listed for sources such as W3SVC.
It seems unlikely that you have sites going down and there is nothing showing on the server in regards to it.
No one likes to debug or diagnose IIS, but it's really the only way to find out what is going on and to figure out the most direct steps towards a resolution.

Thanks for your reply. I guess, that resolved the issue.
IIS Worker Processes for some vhosts were eating up too much memory - and their app pools weren't recycling properly!
