I had install the Front Page Extensions in Vista and they work fine for a period of time. Now, when I try to creat a new web a get an error: "The beta period has expired". I re-downloaded the extensions, and try re-installing or rather, REPAIR them, but
then I get the following error: Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: (location of installation file).
Well, they are already installed, they were working fine, untill one day when, if I tried to created a new web, it tells me that the 'beta period has expired'. So I tried re-installing, choosing repair, and then I get the installation error.
The web that are already there work fine and I can connect to them thru Front Page, I just can't create new ones.
I did the uninstall and install them again. Now I can't access the websites on it via Front Page. I get the "Folder
http://machinename/mpr isn't accessible. The folder may be located in a unavailable location, protected with a pasword, or the filename contains a / or \" error. I know how to fix this on XP, no idea how in vista.
I go to the IIS Manager and I see the webs under Websites > Default Web Site, and they have the application icon.
I can't create new webs with FP as well, I get "The Web server at
http://machinename does not appear to have Windows SharePoint Services installed.
1. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Microsoft SharePoint Administrator > Check Server Health (run with fix checked) > Recalculate the web
1. Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Microsoft SharePoint Administrator > Create a subweb > Enter the name (http://machinename/THISNAME) for each web... al 30 of them :S

Hi Diomedes,
Do the error happens during installation or after installation?

Have you tried unstinalling and installing most recent version? I remember seeing this question before and I believe thats what fixed it.
