We are currently moving for our current setup of two seperate servers to a load balanced server cluster (with all storage on a SAN) and have run into an a potential issue with setuping site searching on some of are sites. So I have been tasked with find
some software that will enable us to only keep one search catelog and all the nodes in the array to be able to access it. Below is a little background on why this is an issue:
We currently have approxailty 40 small sites which all have a site search facility configured so that a user can easily locate a page within the site these currently use Windows Indexing server to perform there searching and indexing. We also have other
sites which do not have this search facility. As we move to a load balanced server cluster these we lead to issues as we currently have to setup a profile for each site indivialual so if we decided to add another node to our cluster we would have to configure
multiply index server profiles.
So we are looking for an indexing solution that will work accross mulitply nodes on a cluster with minimal configuration needed if we add an additional node whos search page(s) will work fine with asp, asp.net 1 and asp.net 2. Does anyone have any ideas?

Here is what we use on our website that is deployed on a web-farm.http://www.easysearchasp.net/ Another option is MOSS 2007 has a search option I believe. Of course you could use a 'google' appliance. :)
http://www.goebelgroup.com/sam.htm has some other comparisons. Hope that helps.
