  • Re: IISReset Issues after July 2018 Patches

I just wanted to follow up here with some findings from today...

In some cases we found that uninstalling KB4338815 & KB4338824 resolved the issues and IIS was responsive to restarts again. However, in some cases we found that this was only resolved after uninstalling all of the July patches.

One of the vendors we work with identified a possible cause being related to anon auth set to a specific user (service account, IUSR, etc.) instead of ApplicationPoolIdentity via the radio buttons. They suggested a workaround of ensuring the specific identity is set at the AppPool level and setting the anon auth to ApplicationPoolIdentity. So far in testing this has worked with that app but we've found that this is not an option in all cases.

We've reached out to Premier for some assistance with this. It seems like others are starting to come out of the woodwork with these issues as well. I will post anything useful as we get it.
