The only one problem is, that the CMS that I use (Joomla), have the same tiemout problem, I mean, at the beginning was the CGI timeout, and now is the CMS interface that after a wile, show me a (You have to be login) even if I already login (I just was waiting
for the uploading file). I have to see that, but it´s not so complicated.
See what is the value of session.gc_maxlifetime in your php.ini. I think by default it is set to 1440 sec (24 min). Try increasing that.
Regarding slowness in file upload you will need to find out what is the bottleneck. It can be slow network, PHP code etc.
