Can i target .net 4.x for custom FTP authentication/home directory providers in IIS 10 on Server 2019?

    Hi Hvid,

I'm afraid you can't tarbet .NET 4.x for custom FTP authentication directory provider. Because  the dependent assembly reference providerMicrosoft.Web.FtpServer is written by .NET 3.5 and it only support .NET 2.0 runtime.

It is recommended to develop your custom provider with .NET 2.0 library.

Thanks, that's what i feared. Just hoped that Microsoft had invested a bit of time in IIS for once :)

Actually, I could't get it to build targeting 2.0, referencing Microsoft.Web.FtpServer.dll from Server 2019. I tried with 4.5 and it actually works, successfully deployed and tested :)
