I need your help. My query is :
We have DMZ server with .NET version 4.6. We got a new request to upgrade .NET version to 4.7.2.
Can we install new version in DMZ servers. What will be the impact on server?
We have Active applications installed on the server.

4.7.2 equal to the upgrade patch of .NET 4.6.2. So the application that could run with 4.6 should also works fine with .NET 4.7.2.
Since the application would probably have some issue in different environment. It is suggested to make some test in development environment before upgrading .NET from 4.6 to 4.7.2.

Thanks for your inputs! I have one more query like is this upgrade applicable in DMZ servers ?
What happens if we do upgrade in DMZ servers?

It depend on your own. If your server is running fine and you need to promise always work. You could stop the upgrading. If you need to avoid some potential CLR bug, you could install it.
All application run in IIS depend on runtime instead of .NET framework itself. So when you upgrade .NET it would probably upgrade runtime version. The upgrade would probably fix some potential CLR issue
Just remember to do test in testing environment and remember to backup DMZ server before you apply .NET 4.7.2 because newer version would cause some compatibility issue sometime.
If the reply is helpful, it is appreciated if you could mark it as answer.

Thanks a lot for your response! Suppose, if we installed 4.7.2 in DMZ server, if something has happened the how to downgrade the version to 4.6. is there any back out plan for this.
Thanks in Advance!

Replicate and backup whole server is a good habit. If the installation failed, installation wizard will rollback automatically. If you ran into compatibility issue after installing 4.7.2. You could remove it from control panel and install
It is appreciated if you could mark it as answer.
