Migrate IIS sites from Server 2003 to 2008

We have lot of site running on Server 2003 X32 which I like to Move to 2008 R2 X64.
What is best way to do this. Please include as muh details as you can as I'm not good with iis.
I use below link to move the site onto new server but after the migration all of the site are giving 500 errors

A automatic migration can only address most of manual tasks, but not all. Or I should say errors like 500 are expected. Simply use Google to learn more about such errors and the solutions are usually there already.

Choose one of the site and try to migrate it manually.
1. Create website folder on your new web server. Grant access for Network service.
2. Open IIS manager and set up Website, configure Network service permission for Application pool.
3. Copy files from old server to new server, check website whether it has any error or not.
if it get migrate successfully then it can give better idea about the issue.
So you can implement that to migrate other site.
