I just build the reverse proxy on my local server. However, the static content file just return 500 when I access the website. The image display the content type of text/html. I would like to know the content-type of the static file depend on the frontend
server or backend server? And how can I fix the 500 error.

The content type just depend on the MIME type in the backend server. So if it return 500 error, please check if the rewrite outbound rule is working without any issue. Secondly, Please ensure the static content feature has been installed by backend server.
If you don't know how to fix IIS reverse proxy rule issue, you could just post it here.
